I promise

Let me make a promise to all of you, and future members. This post will be pinned to the top. This is the way I revere Personal Training.

I promise you something that I won’t do.

I won’t gimmick you with “try this for abs in 10 days”, “this is the BEST workout for your biceps”, “try this diet, I lost 60 lbs in 30 days” or “this is the hack you’ve been missing”

All of that crap is TikTok, youtube, Instagram, and Facebook media marketing techniques. It’s all nonsense.

If you’re looking for a fast way to get fit, stay and learn but you won’t get that answer.

All of those gimmicks go against the very law of a fit and healthy lifestyle. Which is: It’s a lifestyle.

If you are looking for the pill method, or the “if I spend money on it, that’s all it takes” mentality, you’re in for a shock.

The work isn’t hard. That idea is what stops a lot of people from starting. They think killing themselves over sweat and pain is what working out is. That is farthest from the truth when done correctly.

Here’s a tip: Whatever you’re doing now, make it slightly more challenging. Until it’s not. Repeat.

That doesn’t always mean more weight. It could be less weight and more skill at form. It could be practicing time management and going for a walk for 10 minutes every day. It could be meditation. It could be adding a slight 10-second jog to your next walk. It could be adding 2, then 3, then 4, making them 20 seconds. After 3 months you’ll look back and.

See how far you have traveled.

I will though tell you what I WILL do.

I promise to train you all as my clients. To not give you everything at once. To progress your knowledge of what true fitness is about.

It’s about the diversity of practice and trying newness

It’s about understanding your body

It’s about understanding food

It’s about being self-aware

It’s about practicing failure and Embracing it

It’s about the practice of discipline

It’s about understanding that mastery is a lifelong pursuit

It’s about forgiving yourself when you mess up

It’s about not expecting yourself to be perfect

It’s about finding joy in the process, not the goal

It’s about victories

It’s about planning

It’s about learning that there is always more to learn

It’s about fixing pain, both physical and mental

It’s about trusting yourself

It’s about loving your body no matter what stage you’re at because it’s all relative

It’s about being an example to others

It’s about not judging others

It’s about self-confidence

It’s about becoming better than yesterday

It’s about rest

It’s about hormones

It’s about respect

This is something you can’t buy. You have to earn it. You have to physically do it. Spending money on a trainer is to hire a teacher on how.

But one day, you will be the teacher. Whether you’re a personal trainer, a dad, a wife, a mother, a father, a friend, a sibling, a leader in a group, an employee

You will become the example. Whether you’re looking for that or not.

My job is to better the lives of everyone around me through health and fitness and to make them live long happy lives, with rockin’ bods and hormones in check, and self-virtues that they could have only gotten through fitness practices.

I respect my job. And that means I respect each and every one of you. No matter who you are, search for true fitness.

It will change your entire life.
